North Scottsdale is the premier luxury-desert corner of the Valley, anchored by master-planned communities that each have a completely different personality. DC Ranch spreads across roughly 4,000 acres at the base of the McDowell Mountains with four villages: Silverleaf, Country Club, Desert Park, and Desert Camp, plus more than 33 miles of paths, two community centers with pools, fitness, and tennis, and the walkable Market Street shopping district.
Troon and Troon North offer elevated desert and Pinnacle Peak views around one of Arizona's most respected public courses, with two Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish designs, Monument and Pinnacle, next to the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale. Desert Mountain is one of the largest private communities in the area, built around seven Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses. Buyers here should understand that club memberships are separate from HOA dues and can be significant.

Gated-community living at DC Ranch does not require a golf membership, while golf culture is central to Desert Mountain's identity. Club initiation fees, dues, and waitlists vary a great deal, so it pays to understand the community before you fall in love with the house.
Schools & District
North Scottsdale is served primarily by the Scottsdale Unified School District, rated A on Niche and among the top five percent of districts nationally. Copper Ridge School, a PreK-8 campus inside DC Ranch, carries an A rating, and Desert Mountain High School ranks first in the district and 23rd in Arizona per U.S. News. The Country Club at DC Ranch, an award-winning private Tom Lehman and John Fought design, is a big part of the lifestyle here.
